Hi I’m Dru,

I make flutes amongst an array of other things and here is where one can acquire them.

As a working musician for most of my life music has always played a vital role on my journey. I feel that it’s another way in which my soul is able to speak, sing or just express that moment.

I fell in love with The Native American style flute many years ago and longed to have my own collection of different keys. Eventually a pal and I started making flutes (Dean Scanlon). Dean makes them using a CNC machine and finishes them by hand. I started out using a hook knife, drill, some wood glue and a few Bushcraft skills to get me going as I didn’t have any other tools at the time.
It did take some time to get good at making them for both Dean and myself. I watched YouTube videos and read books. A lot of time and effort, many cuts, burns and ouches later.

In time other people liked them and fast forward to the present day.

Each branch flute is individually handcrafted by Andrew King, while our CNC-machined flutes are crafted by Dean Scanlon.

Our flutes are designed to be highly playable while preserving the natural beauty, character, and tonal qualities of the wood from which they are made.

In addition to flutes, we also create walking staffs, carvings, and other handcrafted wooden pieces.

Every instrument is made with care, respect, and precision. We aim to create flutes that are simple, naturally beautiful, and expressive - honouring the traditional methods used to transform sleeping branches into instruments for meditation, healing, performance, and personal enjoyment. Whether you are picking up a flute for the first time or are an experienced player, we strive to create an instrument that will inspire you.

To order, simply select your preferred key and, where available, your preferred wood type. Once your order is placed, your flute will be crafted and dispatched within 1–4 weeks.
